David Crofts
David has extensive experience in international finance having been involved in infrastructure ventures in the UK, Indonesia, Australia and the Pacific region. David has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry and was appointed as AJC's CFO in September 2000 during the early construction phase of the network and subsequently as CEO in April 2011.
Philip Murphy
Philip Murphy is the Head of Engineering for AJC. Philip completed his engineering degree in 1974 and has been involved in the international telecommunications industry with OTC, Telstra International, Reach and currently AJC. His accountabilities have included geostationary satellite planning at 36,000km up and submarine cables at over 8,000m down.
Philip was part of the original AJC Feasibility Study Team in 1999 with functions since then including specifying, procuring and testing network aspects of both the original AJC installation completed in Dec 2001, and the AJC Upgrades completed in April 2008 (10G technology), June 2012 (40G technology) and December 2013 (100G technology). Philip also participates in the product development of AJC transmission capabilities and represents AJC at industry and government technical forums.
Paul Lomas
Paul has been involved in the submarine cable industry from the first implementation of fibre being placed under the ocean over 25 years ago. Originally employed with Alcatel Submarine Systems in the research and development department, he worked on developing the building blocks of what make up modern Submarine cable systems of today.
Paul has worked with and alongside many international telecommunication vendors throughout the world, including Alcatel Submarine Networks, AT&T, British Telecom, TE Subcom and now AJC.
His experience includes everything from cable manufacture, assembly and testing of subsea systems to deployment and final acceptance with all of the testing, installation, training, configuration and upgrades processes in between. If a country has submarine cable and a coast line he has probably been involved with it.
Candice DeSouza
Candice DeSouza is the Financial Accountant for AJC. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer her main responsibilities comprise the production of Financial and Management Reports, including the P&L, BS and cash flow, liaising with external auditors, managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger. Prior to joining AJC in 2000 Candice held diverse accounting positions with exempt companies in Bermuda including Assistant Controller, OCI Management Consulting Services, Ltd. Candice is a member of Institute of Management Accountants.
